Chandler

I have come to the conclusion that I own probably the happiest cat in the entire world. He goes by the name Chandler; And this is his story.

So my roommate and I decided to move into our own apartment back in late 2009 and by the time April 2010 rolled around we had already started packing our bags. On May 1st , we pack everything into a U-Haul and dragged it an hour and a half away from our respective homes and moved it into our new apartment in London. That was only the beginning.

Not a week after we moved in did we decide that the best thing for us to do right now was to get a cat. I mean .. thats what everyone does when they first move out - isnt it? Anyways .. so we head out to one of two PetSmart stores here in London and we started to look for our new cat. The first one we went to we saw Bing. A 3 year old, grey furred badass. We were going to take him right there but we decided we should do some "comparrison shopping" before we jumped right in. So we headed out to look around at some other stores and just decided that we didnt want to look around anymore so we decided then and there to get Bing. I think we liked him so much was because he had the last name of one of our favourite characters from "Friends" who was named "Chandler Bing".

Just one problem ... Bing was GONE.

Our hearts sank. Bing had gone to someone else who was way smarter than us and could make a decision without thinking it over. Oh well. None of the other cats there had really made us feel the way Bing had so we decided to head over to the other PetSmart in town and hope that maybe, just maybe there would be another cat just like Bing.

And thats where Chandler comes in...But before he was Chandler he was ... MIKE.

Sadly we drove to the other PetSmart, feeling hopeless and empty without Bing in our life but hopefull that we would find someone similar. When we got there it was just a bunch of small kittens who really liked to meow. A lot. But down in the end cage laying in his litter was Mike. He had a crazy pink nose and looked altogether goofy. After about 10 minutes it came down to an orange 4 month old ginger cat, Mike; a 7 month old tuxedo cat, and a terrifying looking white cat.
In the end I think I made the final decision and I chose Mike.

On the drive home Elisha and I had decided that Mike was too normal of a name and our cat needed to be called something more respectable. At that time we were still grieving the loss of Bing and we were contemplating renaming Mike, Bing but we thought that it would remind us of our loss - so we decided on the next best thing.

Chandler.

Since then we have given him a lot of ridiculous nicknames - that Im sure if he could understand human - he would just love. But that is the story of Chandler (Bing) and why he is so awesome.
